Our story

The work began with a simple commitment: live with more attention.

Attention to place. Attention to the people beside us. Attention to what we consume, what we make, and what we leave behind.

That commitment takes public form through low-cost and free community experiences that make room for plant-based culture, art, music, sustainability, mutual support, and nature-based practices.

“The SFV is where we live, work and play. We acknowledge the original stewards that took care of this land for centuries, and made it possible for us to exist here.”

“Second Nature Collective is committed to building community around conscious living. Honoring the contributions of stewards, past and present, is vital to create a path forward.”

Second Nature Collective mission ethos

What guides the work

Care becomes visible in how a space is built.

These are working principles—not a substitute for the collective's forthcoming confirmed pillar language.

01

Make belonging practical

Welcoming language, flexible access, and spaces for youth, families, artists, and neighbors.

02

Learn through relationship

Nature, food, creative practice, and conversation become ways of knowing together.

03

Keep the work local

Center the San Fernando Valley and the people already making life here.
